This is the other '''spaced en dash''' template; it renders like this (without the quotation marks): " – ".
It is intended to be [[WP:Substitution|substituted]] and uses a [[Unicode]] en-dash character rather than the [[ASCII]] equivalent '''{{code|–}}''', and renders the following: '''{{code| – }}''' i.e. a [[non-breaking space]], an [[Dash#En dash|en dash]] and a normal space that will line-break and collapse.

This template has been designed as an alternative to {{tl|Spaced ndash}}, which performs the same function but when substituted is less easily read and edited in the wikicode editing window. {{tl|Spd}} is thus preferable to the older, [[ASCII]]-based template mentioned when substituted, in a similar way to {{tl|mdash}}.
