Equalizing is improving one eye instead of both eyes at the same time. It's done to reduce the [[diopter gap]] between two eyes, so that both eyes have a more similar or identical level of correction. It is recommended to do at least 2 spherical reductions before attempting to equalized. At which point you will alternate a monocular (one eye only) drop, with a binocular (both eyes) drop or better still, two binocular drops before another monocular drop. It is not recommended to do two monocular drops in a row. Be mindful to maintain your [[diopter ratio]] for both [[normalized]] and [[differentials]]. This approach should work for spherical and cylindrical reductions alike. You will likely need to incorporate some [[patching]] through this process.
