Vuity are eye drops that include pilocarpine, originally used for treating glaucoma, to temporarily constrict the pupil, intended to increase depth of field and prescribed for presbyopia. However, reduced ciliary muscle effort for near vision, whether by plus lenses or by Vuity causes the muscle to atrophy, eventually resulting in complete loss of accomodation, forcing even stronger supplements of focusing power to be used. Vuity are also significantly more expensive than generic pilocarpine for glaucoma medication.
